Clothing has become disposable, devalued to single-use status—all in the name of maximising profit for a handful of CEOs, at the expense of countless garment workers and our planet.

    Years ago, as a 21-year-old with barely a penny to spare, vintage was my lifeline. It allowed me to express myself with beauty, boldness, and individuality I couldn’t find—or afford—on the high street.

    But times have changed. As vintage has grown in popularity, so too have the price tags. If I were that same 21-year-old today, much of what’s out there would be beyond my reach.
